Quis Custodiet
Quality Control & Accountability
Latin Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?— “Who watches the watchers?” This page is the standards layer of Austrian Newsroom. It exists so that the same scrutiny journalism applies to the world is applied to the newsroom itself.
What Quis Custodiet does
- Standards & ethics charter. Sets out the rules editorial work must follow — sourcing, accuracy, fairness, conflict of interest, separation from PR.
- Public corrections log. Every correction, retraction, or significant clarification is published here in plain language.
- Editorial accountability. Reviews complaints about Austrian Newsroom content and publishes rulings transparently. Operates independently from the editorial desk that produced the work.
- Cross-link to the Ombudsman. The community-facing entry point lives in Community and Focus. Submissions land in the same review process as direct complaints below.
Editorial Accountability Statement
Austrian Newsroom commits to: named bylines on every editorial piece; clear separation of editorial, source material, and PR; prompt correction of factual errors; public response to complaints; and transparent disclosure of sponsorship and ownership. This statement is enforced through the QC process described above.
